Event Details: The Chingona Gathering
The Chingona Gathering will take place at Prescott College, 90 minutes from Phoenix, Arizona in the high desert of Prescott, Arizona on the lands of the Yavapai Peoples. The workshops and presentations will take place in The Crossroads meeting space. Meals, Chismé, and cafecito will be in the The Café that looks out to the pine tress and gardens.
Participants will stay in student housing apartments and cottages, with accommodations designed for community-building. Each apartment will house up to four individuals, encouraging shared experiences and deeper connections.
All meals for the Chingona Gathering will be included and thoughtfully prepared to feel like an abrazo from the abuelas. Our own dedicated chef will be with us throughout the weekend, creating nourishing, culturally inspired dishes that feed both body and soul. In addition, participants will have access to the Prescott College campus, including the sustainability garden, walking paths, outdoor yoga circle, and the beautiful, serene grounds that provide the perfect backdrop for connection and reflection.
Agenda Highlights
This immersive, four-day experience is designed to foster healing, empowerment, and cultural renewal. We ask all participants to commit to staying for the entire event. This is a collective journey, emphasizing community responsibility and reciprocity. The event will begin Thursday at 4 PM and end Sunday at noon.
Thursday Opening Ceremony at 4 PM
- Check-in and Networking: Start the weekend with cafecito and connection.
- Welcome Dinner: A culturally relevant meal, community agreements, and the purpose of our time together.
- Opening Ceremony: Calling in the ancestors for guidance, led by Mama Shabeta and Mea.
Friday: Grounding and Workshops
- Morning Movement: Somatic practices like yoga or a plant walk.

- Closing Ceremony: Outdoor rituals to honor the ancestors and set intentions for the future, led by Mea and Shabeta.
